Sidmouth Town AFC get home draw in FA Vase

Sidmouth Town FC have been given a bye in the opening round of the 2019/20 FA Vase. What’s more, the Vikings, have been given a home tie in the 2nd Qualifying Round when they will host either Cullompton Rangers or Newquay at Manstone Lane on Saturday, September 14. If successful in the game against Cully, Town will bank £725, while the losers of that match will receive £250. Harris nets four as Exmouth Town FC ease to 6-0 pre-season victory over Sidmouth

Exmouth Town FC made a fine start to their pre-season competitive action as they brushed aside visiting Sidmouth Town, beating them 6-0 at Southern Road in a midweek evening contest. A terrific turnout of 169 at Southern Road saw Kevin Hill’s men take a 12th-minute lead through a goal from last season’s leading scorer, Ace High. Sidmouth Town Football Club will begin their new life in the South West Peninsula League Premier Division East with an August 10 match at Torpoint Athletic. The game across the River Tamar from Plymouth will see the Vikings start a 38-match season in the new division. Ottery St Mary Cricket Club suffered a heavy defeat in their Tolchards Devon League East Devon derby meeting with Sidmouth at the Fortfield. Ottery skipper Will Harrison won the toss, opted to field and saw the home side reduced to 78-3 thanks to a catch behind by teenage wicketkeeper Lawrence Greenway off the bowling of skipper Harrison.
