Heading home and already got the festival blues? East Devon News captured some of Sunday’s fantastic Back to the 70s costumes, dreamed up by Beautiful Days Festival revellers.
Beautiful Days always lives up to its name – if only you could bottle the atmosphere of this family festival.
Only at Beautiful Days Festival will you find a man dressed as Concorde, the entire Scooby Doo crew complete with The Mystery Machine, or a family of Rubik’s cubes. This year thousands of festival-goers rose to the challenge to create show-stopping costumes.
The Levellers’ annual family music festival, at Escot, near Ottery St Mary, always has a spectacular line-up. This year’s sell-out event included main stage headliners Super Furry Animals – reuniting after 10 years. On Saturday (August 22) Madness had us all singing along to hits, Our House, It Must Be Love, House of Fun and Baggy Trousers.
Down the hill at The Bimble Inn, a snug and intimate party continued into the early hours of the morning. Over at the Big Top were headliners The Proclaimers, and The Divine Comedy.
Billy, Bragg, Tanita Tikaram, Cara Dillon joined the packed line-up of back-to-back music, which was brought to a close by festival founders The Levellers on Sunday night when they headlined the Main Stage.
The usual end-of-festival firework finale was cancelled this year as a safety precaution amid ultra-dry ground conditions.
Away from the music there was children’s entertainment and activities, wellbeing therapies, and a vast selection of food catering for all tastes, plus a host of stalls to browse, selling eclectic and unique gifts, clothes, jewellery and more.
With a host of entertainment set across six stages, Beautiful Days Festival has something for everyone.
