An Exeter man who was jailed for sexually abusing three children made his victims wait two years before owning up to his crimes.
Michael John West, aged 54, pictured here, formerly of the Wonford area of Exeter, has been jailed for six years and six months for crimes against kids dating back decades, to the late 1980s and early 1990s.
West, who two years ago was charged with multiple indecent assaults and indecency with a child, made his victims wait until July this year before admitting what he did, and plead guilty.
He was jailed on Monday, August 11, after appearing at Exeter Crown Court. He was also ordered to sign the Sex Offenders’ Register for life.

Police said West targeted children in Exeter, abusing the youngsters multiple times.
Detectives praised the victims for their help in bringing their abuser to justice, resulting in a guilty plea and jail sentence .
Detective Constable Kathryn Jago, officer in the case, said: “I wish to commend the victims for their courage and resilience throughout the investigation and thank them for their continued support of Devon and Cornwall Police.
“Although West eventually entered guilty pleas, he did not do so until the first day of trial, which was more than two years after he was charged for his offending.
“The strength and bravery shown by the victims during the extended period has undoubtably resulted in the guilty plea, conviction and subsequent sentencing.
Police said West was jailed for six years and six months for the sexual abuse of three children.
He was sentenced at Exeter Crown Court after pleading guilty to seven offences against three victims, including multiple indecent assaults and indecency with a child
A Devon and Cornwall Police spokesperson said: “West targeted his victims in Exeter in the late 1980s and early 1990s, carrying out the abuse across a number of occasions.
“As a result of his convictions, West must sign the Sex Offenders’ Register for life.”
