If you are looking for family-friendly activities before the kids go back to school, free fun is on offer in Axminster on Tuesday, August 25.
Axminster police have teamed up with community food charity Nourish to host the last community picnic of the summer, with a range of activities and games thrown in.
The event, on Tuesday, August 25, starts at 10am at the Axe Valley Academy school field in Axminster.
Families are invited to take picnics along. Free food will be available in the school canteen for children.
The picnic in the park event promises a day of entertainment, activities, games, plus a get-together of the town’s charities and organisations.

Visitors can meet police officers, cadets and volunteers, plus the force mascots Juliet and PD Bravo, also Devon and Somerset firefighters, plus representatives from Axminster Care Service, the town council, Royal British Legion, Axminster Community Shed, The Minster Church, Nourish, and The Flamingo Pool.
On the day there will be games on the field, displays of emergency services vehicles, a speed gun game, craft area and stands of town organisations where visitors can ask questions or raise concerns.
The event will be officially opened by Axminster mayor, councillor Jack Price.
Ben Middleton, Axminster Police Community Support Officer, who teamed up with Nourish to support Axminster families with the weekly picnics in the park events, said the aim of the event was to bring together the emergency services, local organisations and charities for a day of entertainment and information for all ages.
He said: “This is the first time we are running this event, and we felt it was really important to create something inclusive, fun, interactive and educational which provides something of interest for all ages.
“This event is a chance for members of the public to meet the inspiring people who work to keep us safe, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and to learn more about how local authorities and organisations work together to keep Axminster safe.”
Limited car parking is available at the Axe Valley Academy.
