A motorcyclist was left with life-changing injuries after he was involved in a crash with a BMW car in East Devon.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the crash on the A376 dual carriageway, between Clyst St Mary and Clyst St George, where a black Honda motorbike and a grey BMW estate car collided on Sunday afternoon (June 21).
Police said the motorcyclist, a man in his 40s, needed hospital treatment for what they described as ‘life-changing’ injuries.
The A376 road was closed for several hours for crash scene investigations.
A Devon and Cornwall Police spokesperson said: “We are investigating a road traffic collision on the A376 which left a man with serious injuries at the weekend.
“Officers were called at around 2.25pm on Sunday 21st June 2026, to a report of a collision on A376, near Exeter between Clyst St Mary and Clyst St George, on the southbound carriageway.
“The collision involved a black Honda motorcycle and a grey BMW estate car.
“As a result of the collision, the motorcycle rider, a local man in his 40s, sustained life changing injuries and was conveyed to hospital for treatment. His next of kin have been made aware.
“No other injuries were reported.”
The spokesperson added: “Our roads policing team would like to thank the public for their patience while the road was closed for an examination of the scene to take place. It was reopened around 7.15pm.”
