Detectives are investigating a sex assault on a teenage girl in Exmouth, prompting police to appeal for witnesses.
Officers were called to the Withycombe Raleigh area of Exmouth on Thursday afternoon (May 7), after a report a girl had been sexually assaulted by two males.
The teenage girl told detectives she had been in the Gypsy Lane area of the town when she was approached by two males.
The girl is being supported by specially trained officers while enquiries continue, police said.
Detectives want to hear from anyone with information, CCTV or dashcam footage, that could help with enquiries.
A Devon and Cornwall Police spokesperson said: “Detectives investigating a report of sexual assault in Exmouth are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
“We received a report of a sexual assault against a teenage girl in the area of Gypsy Lane, Exmouth, on the afternoon of Thursday 7 May, with the incident taking place between 4pm and 5.30pm.
“It was reported two males approached the victim and sexually assaulted her.”
The spokesperson added: “She is being supported by specially trained officers while enquiries are being carried out.”
