An East Devon pensioner has died days after she was airlifted to hospital after being seriously injured in crash.
Police are continuing to call for witnesses to a crash involving a woman pedestrian in her 70s and a red Nissan Micra, on Swan Hill Road, Colyford, East Devon, at around 8am on Monday, December 15.
Officers on Monday (December 22) confirmed the woman, who lived locally to Colyford, died at Southmead Hospital, in Bristol, on Wednesday, December 17.
Anyone with information about the crash, or dashcam footage, is urged to contact police.
A Devon and Cornwall Police spokesperson said: “A woman has died following a serious traffic collision in Colyford last week.
“Officers were called at 8am on Monday 15 December to a collision in Swan Hill Road involving a red Nissan Micra and a pedestrian.
“The pedestrian, a local woman in her 70s, sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to hospital.
“Sadly, she died at Southmead Hospital in Bristol on Wednesday 17 December.
“Officers are continuing to appeal for any witnesses or anyone with relevant dashcam footage to get in touch.
Police said the seriously-injured pedestrian was airlifted to hospital by helicopter. The car driver was not injured.
Traffic was diverted for several hours while forensic officers examined the crash scene.
A force spokesperson said: “The road was closed while an investigation was carried out at the scene.”
