An East Devon man has died after a van crashed into a wall in Sidbury, sparking police to appeal for witnesses.
Police want to hear from anyone who saw a crash on the A3375 at Sidbury, where a white transit van hit a wall on Wednesday afternoon (November 26).
The 53-year-old driver of the van died from his injuries and his next of kin were informed.
Police said the man had been driving from the direction of Honiton towards Sidbury when the van left the road and crashed.
Forensic officers closed the road for several hours for investigations of the crash scene.
A Devon and Cornwall Police spokesperson said: “A man has died following a serious collision on the A375 at Sidbury.
“We were called shortly before 2.30pm on Wednesday 26 November following a report of a collision involving a white Ford Transit panel van.
“The driver of the vehicle, a 53-year-old local man, sustained fatal injuries as a result. His next of kin have been informed.
“The van was travelling from the direction of Honiton towards Sidbury when it left the road and collided with a wall. “
The spokesperson added: “Officers from the Roads Policing team would like to thank the public for their patience during the road closure whilst a full scene examination took place.”
