Police are hunting for the driver of an ‘unidentified’ vehicle after a motorcyclist suffered serious injuries following a crash East Devon on Monday afternoon (June 23).
The emergency services were called to Colyford, East Devon, after a silver BMW, ridden by a man in his 60s, was involved in a crash with a white Peugeot 208 on the A3052, at Boshill Cross.
Police said they were ‘particularly keen’ to hear from the driver of an ‘unidentified vehicle’ seen at the time of the crash.
The seriously injured motorcyclist was taken to hospital and his next of kin was contacted.
The road was closed for around seven hours while specialist police investigated the crash scene.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the crash and want to hear from anyone with dashcam footage, or information.
A Devon and Cornwall Police spokesperson said: “Police are appealing for witnesses and information following a serious road traffic collision on the A3052, at Boshill Cross, Colyford.
“Devon and Cornwall Police were notified at around 2.20pm on Monday 23 June to a report of a road traffic collision involving a silver BMW motorbike and a white Peugeot 2008.
“The rider of the motorcycle, a man aged in his 60s, sustained serious injuries and was taken to hospital. His next of kin are aware.
“The road was closed for several hours whilst specialist roads policing officers conducted investigations.
“It was reopened at around 9.40pm and officers wish to thank the public for their patience during the road closure.”
The spokesperson added: “Officers are particularly keen to hear from the driver of an unidentified vehicle which was present at the time of the collision.”
