Detectives want to hear from anyone who saw an attack outside an Exmouth takeaway where a man was punched unconscious.
Police were on Saturday evening (April 26) called to Imperial Road, in Exmouth town centre, after it was reported a man had been punched to the ground outside the KFC, was unconscious, and needed hospital treatment for a ‘serious injury’.
Police arrested a 31-year-old Exmouth man, who was later released on bail.
Investigating officers want to hear from anyone who saw the attack, or who has dashcam or CCTV footage.
A Devon and Cornwall Police spokesperson said: “Detectives are continuing to investigate an assault which took place outside KFC on Imperial Road, Exmouth, on Saturday 26 April.
“Officers were initially called to the scene at around 8.15pm, following a report that a male had been punched and knocked to the ground, causing him to lose consciousness.
“The victim was taken to hospital having suffered a serious injury.
“A 31-year-old man from Exmouth was arrested in connection with this incident and has since been released on bail whilst enquiries are ongoing.”
The spokesperson added: “Anybody who witnessed the incident or who may have any relevant mobile, dash cam or CCTV footage, is requested to contact police.”
