Police appeal after motorcyclist is seriously injured in East Devon crash

Police are appealing for witnesses after a motorcyclist was seriously injured in a crash near Rousden in East Devon.

The male rider was airlifted to hospital after emergency services were called.to the A3052, Sidmouth Road, at the junction with Green Lane, around 3.55pm on Monday, June 20.

Officers said the collision involved a red Honda motorcycle and a white Renault Kangoo.

“The motorcycle rider, a man in his 50s from Exeter, sustained multiple serious injuries and was airlifted to Derriford Hospital where he remains. The other driver was uninjured,” said a Devon and Cornwall Police spokesperson.

“Roads policing officers attended alongside paramedics and the fire service.

“The road was closed for seven hours while a specialist examination of the scene was carried out by police.

“Officers are investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision and appealing for any witnesses to contact them. They would particularly like to hear from anyone with relevant dash-cam footage.”
