Police looking for missing Exeter man, 35, find a body in East Devon

Police hunting for a man missing from Exeter for more than a month have found a body in East Devon.

Earlier this month, Devon and Cornwall Police said they were ‘increasingly worried’ for the welfare of 35-year-old Thomas Worthington, who had been living in a tent near the River Exe and was last seen at the end of April.

Police said a body of man has been found in the Clyst Honiton area of East Devon, and Mr Worthington’s family has been made aware of the discovery.

The man’s death was not being treated as suspicious, police said.

Formal identification is yet to take place and a file is being prepared for the coroner

Police said the man’s body was discovered on Tuesday (May 10).

A Devon and Cornwall Police spokesperson said: “The body of a man was located in the Clyst Honiton area on Tuesday 10 May.

“His death is not being treated as suspicious and a file is being prepared for the coroner.

“Formal identification is due to take place.

“The family of Thomas Worthington, 35, from Exeter, who was reported missing on Tuesday 26 April, have been made aware.”
