Firefighters were called to a layby in East Devon on Tuesday morning (March 15) after a blaze broke out in a car boot.
Crews from Honiton and Ottery St Mary were called to the A30 near Fenny Bridges at around 5.30am where they found a heavily smoke-logged car.
Firefighters used a hose reel jet and thermal imaging camera to tackle the blaze.
A Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “Crews from Ottery St Mary and Honiton attended a car fire near to Fenny Bridges on the A30.
“The vehicle was in the lay-by and when crews arrived on scene, they reported that it was heavily smoke-logged with the source of the fire being the boot of the car.
“The fire was extinguished using a hose reel jet and a thermal imaging camera.”
