Seriously injured motorcyclist ‘stable’ in hospital after A30 Honiton crash

Police are appealing for witnesses of a crash on the A30 near Honiton that saw a female motorcyclist airlifted to hospital with serious injuries.

The woman, aged in her 50s, is in a ‘stable’ condition after the single-vehicle incident at around noon on Saturday, February 26.

It happened on the westbound carriageway of the busy road, which was closed for around two hours.

The injured rider was airlifted to Derriford Hospital in Plymouth.

A force spokesperson said: “Police investigating a road traffic collision on the A30 near Honiton at the weekend are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.

“Officers were called to reports of a single-vehicle collision involving a motorbike on the westbound carriageway of the A30 at around midday on Saturday, February 26.

“The motorcyclist, a woman in her 50s, sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to Derriford Hospital.

“She sustained a number of injuries, but they are not considered to be life-threatening or life-changing and her condition has since been described as stable.

“The road was closed for around two hours while officers from the Alliance Roads Policing Team examined the scene, and police would like to thank the public for their patience with this.
