Police hunt cyclist who assaulted pedestrian with bike saddle in Exeter

A pedestrian was knocked down by a cyclist and then assaulted by another rider wielding a bike saddle in Exeter, say police.

Officers are appealing for witnesses after the male victim suffered a serious cut to his head and a broken tooth in the incident in Western Way.

It happened at around 1am on Sunday, February 6.

A Devon and Cornwall Police spokesperson said: “It was reported that a pedestrian was knocked down in a collision with a cyclist and then assaulted by a second cyclist, who used his bike saddle.

“Both cyclists left the scene and are described as white males aged in their 20s, of slim build, with brown hair. One was riding a purple-coloured BMX.
