Police appeal for information after two daytime burglaries at homes in Exeter

Police are appealing for information and witnesses after two Exeter homes half a mile apart were burgled in the daytime.

A home in Wonford Road, in St Leonards, was targeted between 2.40pm and 2.50pm on Tuesday, November 30, where the burglar stole property but fled the scene when they were disturbed.

A home in half a mile away, in Larkbeare Road, also in St Leonards, was burgled on the same day, between 11am and 12noon, and items were stolen when entry to the property was forced.

Police are urging residents living in the St Leonards area of the city to secure their homes and to make sure valuable items are not left on display.

A Devon and Cornwall Police spokesperson said: “Police are appealing for information after two daytime burglaries at homes in the St Leonards area of Exeter.

“In one case, a person forced entry into a property in Wonford Road between 2.40pm and 2.50pm, on Tuesday 30 November and stole items but fled the scene after being disturbed.

“At a property in Larkbeare Road, items were stolen after a person forced entry between 11am and 2pm on the same day.

“We would ask members of the public to ensure that their properties are secure and that valuable items are not on display.

“We would also ask that members of the public be vigilant and report any suspicious activity.”
