Exeter: Police seek witnesses after woman is racially abused by three men in Heavitree

Police are seeking witnesses who remember seeing three men shouting racial abuse at a woman in Heavitree, Exeter, in September.

Devon and Cornwall Police want to hear from anyone who saw the incident, where a female pedestrian was targeted in Church Street, near the junction with Fore Street, in Heavitree, at around 4.30pm on Tuesday, September 14.

The men were believed to have been traveling around in a black-coloured car, police said.

Police said they ‘understand’ the incident was several months ago, but asked anyone with information who witnessed the abuse to come forward.

A Devon and Cornwall Police spokesperson said: “We are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information in connection with a report that three males in a vehicle shouted racially-aggravated abuse at a female pedestrian in the Heavitree area of Exeter.

“The incident happened in Church Street, near to the junction with Fore Street, at around 4.30pm on Tuesday 14 September.

“The suspects are believed to have been travelling in a black-coloured vehicle.”

The spokesperson added: “We understand that this was some time ago, but to help with enquiries we are asking for anyone with information to please email.”
