East Devon road is closed in both directions and air ambulance is called after car crashes

Police, paramedics and the air ambulance were on Tuesday lunchtime (October 19) called to a crash in East Devon on the road between Aylesbeare and Woodbury.

The road in both directions from the Halfway Inn, on the A3052 to Woodbury golf course, heading towards Exmouth, has been closed since around midday, said police.

The incident is ongoing and traffic is said to be coping well.

Both ways are closed due to investigation work between the Hawkerland turn-off, at Aylesbeare, and the Woodbury Park junction.

A Devon and Cornwall Police spokesman said: “We received a report of a road traffic collision in Woodbury at around 12.10pm. It is currently believed this involved a single vehicle.

“Police, paramedics and the air ambulance have been called to the scene.

“The extent of any injuries is not currently known and the incident is ongoing.

“A road closure is in place at from the Halfway Inn on the A3052 to Woodbury Golf Club.”
