Golf glory for Exmouth as building suppliers celebrate winning regional charity tournament

Building suppliers in Exmouth were crowned top team after winning a firm’s South West charity golf day.

The Exmouth RGB Building Supplies team took home the trophy after winning the tournament, held at Bovey Castle.

The golf event, now in its 10th year, raised £2,470 for the builders’ merchant’s chosen charities, Cornwall Mind, Devon Mind and Mind in Somerset.

Some 18 teams, made up of suppliers, customers and staff, competed in the four-ball competition.

The Exmouth team won the Andy Shinner Memorial Trophy, presented by his wife, Karen, and daughter Nicola, in memory of the former Paignton branch manager, who died in 2013.

Kevin Fenlon, RGB Building Supplies CEO, said: “It was fantastic to be able to bring back our charity golf event this year, after having our tenth anniversary event postponed last year.

“We were delighted to welcome Karen and Nicola to the event to present the trophy, and congratulations to the Exmouth team.

“A big thank you to everyone who attended and helped us raise a great amount of money for our local Mind charities, which do so much to support people in our region.”
