Broken-down speedboat taking on water with three onboard is rescued by Exmouth RNLI

A broken-down speedboat taking on water with three onboard off Exmouth on Sunday afternoon (September 26) was rescued by the RNLI.

The inshore and all-weather lifeboats launched shortly after 2.30pm after a 999-call reported the stricken vessel had broken down around one-and-a-half miles off the town’s lifeboat station.

An Exmouth RNLI spokesman said: “The inshore lifeboat then towed the speedboat and its occupants to the safety of land at Belshers Slipway, Exmouth, escorted by the all-weather lifeboat.

“The three occupants of the speedboat were uninjured and did not require any medical attention.”
