Woman is airlifted to hospital after crash near petrol station in Sidmouth

A woman was airlifted to hospital with serious injuries after she was involved in a crash near a petrol station in Sidmouth on Wednesday lunchtime (September 8).

Police were called to Manstone Lane, Sidmouth, at around 1pm, after receiving reports of a crash involving a woman and a car near the fuel station.

The road was partially blocked while police and paramedics dealt with the casualty, who was airlifted by the air ambulance to hospital in Plymouth.

A Devon and Cornwall Police spokesman said: “We were called with reports of an incident involving a car and a woman in Manstone Lane, Sidmouth, at around 1pm.

“Paramedics and the air ambulance were also called to the scene.

“The woman has been flown to Derriford Hospital with what are currently believed to be serious injuries.”
