Police were prompted to search for a loose bullock on the road near Honiton on Tuesday morning (August 17) after reports it was in the area of the A35.
The animal was said to be on the road at around 10am, and police urged livestock owners to check their cattle.
Devon and Cornwall Police said officers scouring the area for the animal did not find the bull.
A Devon and Cornwall Police spokeswoman said: “Officers have attended the area and carried out a search but have not located a bull.”
Devon and Cornwall Police said: “We have received a report of a bull being loose in the area of the A35 Honiton at approximately 10am today, Tuesday 17 August 2021. Please can owners make checks.”
