A grand fireworks display has been confirmed for Sidmouth seafront on Saturday, August 28 – the day after the town’s highly-anticipated airshow.
The illuminations spectacular on The Esplanade has been confirmed by the town council and will take place at 9.30pm.
It is being generously supported by David Rowland’s Funfair and will follow a week of fun leading up to the August bank holiday.
The funfair will be on the Ham from Wednesday, August 25, until the Saturday.
And on Friday, August 27, at 5.30pm, Sidmouth Airshow will soar into town.
It will feature aircraft such as the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight’s Dakota, Royal Navy Wildcat and culminate in the Red Arrows.
“With the firework display rounding out Saturday evening, this bank holiday is promising to be full of fun and spectacle in Sidmouth,” said a town council spokesperson.
“However, the 2021 airshow and visit from the Red Arrows could be the last unless enough collectors volunteer to help.
“So it’s vital that official collectors are recruited to assist in gathering donations from the public across the seafront, Salcombe and Peak Hills and Connaught Gardens.
“If you are able to offer your help, please register by contacting Sidmouth Town Council at email@example.com.
“Volunteers are needed from 4pm until 7.30pm and the organising team will then be back in touch with locations and contact details for the day.”
