Man dies after becoming trapped under light goods vehicle near Exeter Airport

A man has died after becoming trapped under a light goods vehicle near Exeter Airport today (Wednesday, July 28), police have confirmed.

Emergency services were called to the A30 westbound on-slip at Clyst Honiton at around 12.25pm.

The casualty, aged in his 60s, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Devon and Cornwall Police has issued an appeal for witnesses of the incident.

As a result of the incident a man in his 60s sustained significant injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene…

A force spokesperson said: “Police were called shortly after 12.25pm on Wednesday 28 July to the A30 westbound on-slip at Exeter Airport.

“Emergency services attended the scene where a man was reported to have become trapped underneath a light goods vehicle.

“As a result of the incident a man in his 60s sustained significant injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. His next-of-kin have been informed.

“The Health and Safety Executive have been informed of the incident.

“Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident.”
