Daylight theft of laptop and dashcam after vehicle’s windows are smashed while parked at East Devon beauty spot

A laptop, dashcam and other items were stolen during daylight from a vehicle after its windows were smashed while parked at an East Devon beauty spot on Monday, July 26, police said.

The theft at Woodbury Common has prompted Devon and Cornwall Police to warn motorists against leaving valuables in vehicles while parked in remote areas.

The vehicle was targeted sometime between 1pm and 2.45pm and police are keen to hear from anyone with information, or who may have seen someone acting suspiciously in the area.

A Devon and Cornwall Police spokesperson said: “We are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information in connection with a report of theft from a vehicle which was parked in the area of Woodbury Common, Exeter.

“Windows were smashed; items stolen include a dashcam, HP laptop, earphones and headphones.

“This took place sometime between 1pm and 2.45pm on Monday 26 July.

“Please be wary of this and remove items from vehicles.”
