Exmouth firefighters help rescue man and dog from bog at Woodbury

A man and his dog had to be rescued from a bog at Woodbury on Friday afternoon (July 16).

Firefighters from Exmouth were among emergency services called to the scene at around 2pm.

The crew donned water rescue gear and used wading poles to help the stricken person and his four-legged friend to safety.

A Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “The fire service were called to assist other agencies with rescuing a male casualty and his dog from a bog.

“Crews used water rescue personal protective clothing and wading poles to escort the casualty to dry land.”
