Firefighters tackle pick-up truck blaze in Clyst St George

Firefighters tackled a pick-up truck fire in Clyst St George tonight (Friday, July 9) which also damaged a nearby building.

A crew from Middlemoor in Exeter was called to the East Devon village at around 8.20pm.

They found the vehicle engulfed in flames.

The cause of the blaze was accidental, say the fire service.

The fire which was thought to have started accidentally, also caused a small amount of fire damage to an adjacent building…

A Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “On arrival the incident commander confirmed that a pick-up type truck was well alight.

“Crews quickly got to work to extinguish the fire using breathing apparatus and a hose reel jet.

“The fire which was thought to have started accidentally, also caused a small amount of fire damage to an adjacent building.”
