Casualty rescued by firefighters after ride-on lawn mower drops 15-feet over a bank near Sidmouth

A casualty was rescued after they dropped 15-feet over a bank while on a ride-on lawnmower near Sidmouth.

Crews from Ottery St Mary, Colyton and Sidmouth were called to Vineycroft Lane, in Salcombe Regis, shortly after 4pm on Wednesday (June 16), where they used ropes to stretcher the casualty to safety.

The fire service said the person was left with the ambulance service.

A Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “ Fire engines from Ottery St Mary, Colyton and Sidmouth attended an incident following reports of a person on a ride on-lawn mower having dropped fifteen feet over a bank.

“Crews used lines and ropes to assist the casualty up the bank on a stretcher, and left them in the care of ambulance personnel.”
