Woman is freed from overturned car on road near Exmouth

A woman was freed from a car that had overturned and was on its roof near Exmouth on Thursday evening (May 13).

Firefighters from Exmouth and Middlemoor fire stations, and the rescue tender,  shortly before 6.30pm were called to the B3180, near Four Firs, Woodbury, where they found a car on its roof, with a woman inside.

The fire crews rescued the woman and she was checked over by a waiting ambulance crew.

A Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “Two fire appliances from Exmouth and Middlemoor, along with the heavy rescue vehicle from Middlemoor, attended a car that was on its roof with one female inside.

“On arrival crews confirmed there was one female inside the vehicle and got to work using small tools. ambulance crews were also in attendance.

“The female was released from the car by fire service personnel and handed to ambulance crews for checking.”
