Exeter and East Devon: Police appeal over crash between car and cyclist in Blackhorse area

Police have appealed for information over a crash involving a car and a cyclist in the Blackhorse area of Exeter this morning (Thursday, May 13). 

The collision involved an unknown vehicle and a woman aged in her 20s on a purple-coloured mountain bike who was travelling from Pinhoe to Cranbrook.

It happened between 7am and 8am.

Officers say the cyclist has since fallen ill and is in hospital.

A force spokesperson said today: “Police are appealing for information following a collision between a car and a cyclist in the Blackhorse area of Exeter this morning.

“It happened between 7am and 8am and involved an unknown vehicle and a purple-coloured mountain bike.

“The cyclist, a woman aged in her 20s, was travelling from the Pinhoe area to Cranbrook.

“The driver of the vehicle is believed to have stopped at the time before both parties went on their separate ways.

“The cyclist later became unwell and is now being treated in hospital.

“Police are appealing for the driver of the vehicle, or anyone who witnessed the collision or has information or dashcam footage, to come forward.
