East Devon and Exeter teenagers arrested on suspicion of attempted murder in connection to attack on 18-year-old city man

An East Devon teenager from Cranbrook and another from Exeter have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder in connection to an attack on 18-year-old city man.

Police were called to Lancelot Road, Beacon Heath, Exeter, at around 11.30pm on Tuesday (April 27), where they found an 18-year-old man with serious head and leg injuries. He was taken to Derriford Hospital in Plymouth.

A 17-year-old man from Cranbrook and an 18-year-old man from Exeter, who are believed to know the victim, were arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.

They have been remanded in police custody while enquiries continue.

Police want to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time the man was attacked and who may have information to help officers.

A Devon and Cornwall Police spokesperson said: “Police have arrested two teenagers in connection with an attack on a male at an address on Lancelot Road, Beacon Heath, Exeter, at around 11.30pm yesterday evening, Tuesday 27 April.

“Officers attended the address and an 18-year-old man was found to have sustained serious leg and head injuries and was taken to Derriford Hospital in Plymouth.

“A 17-year-old male from Cranbrook and an 18-year-old male from Exeter, who are believed to be known to the victim, were subsequently arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and remanded in police custody while enquiries continue.”
