East Devon: Police launch witness appeal for information after shed blaze

Police are appealing for witnesses and information following a shed blaze in an East Devon village earlier this month.

Officers were called to a property in Eden Way, Church Road, Colaton Raleigh, at around 1am on Sunday, April 11 after a report a garden shed was on fire.

Police arrested a man on suspicion of arson, who was released under investigation pending further enquiries.

Devon and Cornwall Police are appealing for witnesses and information, or CCTV and mobile phone footage.

A police spokesperson said: “Police are appealing for information about a fire at an address on Eden Way, Church Road, Colaton Raleigh, near Sidmouth, on Sunday 11 April.

“Police were called to the property at around 1am having been alerted to a garden shed being on fire.

“A 54-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of arson in relation to the shed fire and released under investigation pending further enquiries.”
