East Devon fire crews tackle blaze in Ottery St Mary garage

Firefighters wore breathing apparatus to tackle a blaze in a garage in Ottery St Mary on Thursday evening (April 15).

Crews from the town and Honiton fire station used a hose reel jet to put out the flames and a thermal imaging camera to check for hot spots.

An Ottery St Mary fire station spokesperson said: “Upon arrival, the Ottery crew got to work using a hose reel jet, thermal imaging camera and breathing apparatus wearers to enter the garage and extinguish the fire.

“Not long after committing the breathing apparatus team, the fire had been extinguished and all contents were removed and dampened down to prevent it from reigniting.”
