Police have confirmed seven people have died from an outbreak of Covid-19 at a care home in Sidmouth.
Some 10 residents of Holmesley Care Home, in Sidford, are in the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital with the coronavirus.
Devon and Cornwall Police, continuing to investigate the circumstances of the outbreak, said officers were focusing on infection control and management at Holmesley Care Home, in Fortescue Road.
Police said the investigation was ‘not related in any way’ to the vaccination of the residents living at the home.
A member of staff with Covid-19 who was being treated in hospital has been discharged, said police.
Officers have been speaking to staff at the home, and carried out a search of the premises this week.
The force confirmed a large number of the care home’s residents and staff had tested positive for Covid-19.
