Daylight burglary in Exmouth prompts police appeal for information

Police are appealing for information after a report of a daylight burglary in the Brixington area of Exmouth.

Devon and Cornwall Police have warned residents to be aware and secure doors and windows after a man was found in a property at Dukes Crescent, Exmouth, at around 11am on Wednesday, February 24.

Police said the suspected burglar left the property empty-handed after being disturbed.

Officers want to hear from anyone who may have seen someone acting suspiciously in the Brixington area, or if they have CCTV footage from around the time of the burglary.

A Devon and Cornwall Police spokesperson said: “We are appealing for information in connection with a report of burglary to a property in Dukes Crescent, Exmouth.

“A male suspect was disturbed and left. No items were stolen.

“This took place at approximately 11am on Wednesday 24 February 2021.

“Please be wary and secure doors and windows at all times.”

They added: “Anyone with information or CCTV in the area is asked to phone or email.”
