EDN adWeddings can now take place in public gardens in Sidmouth that overlook the sea.

East Devon District Council (EDDC) has announced that Connaught Gardens is now licensed to host wedding ceremonies and events can begin once Covid-19 restrictions allow.

The council said a number of locations within the grounds are available to hire, including the bandstand gardens for receptions, and bookings are being taken for when lockdown is lifted.

Councillors believe the award-winning gardens, in Peak Hill Road, will prove ‘popular’ as a wedding location.

Councillor Geoff Jung, EDDC’s portfolio holder for the coast, country and environment, said: “Connaught Gardens in Sidmouth is a wonderful location for the hosting a wedding.

“We are sure this will be a very popular location with the award-winning gardens and one of the best views in the South West.”
