Firefighters from Honiton tackled a bin store blaze in Wilmington on Wednesday night (February 10) after ‘multiple’ calls to raise the alarm were received.
When the crews arrived shortly before 11pm they found a bin store well alight.
Fire crews wore breathing apparatus and used jets to tackle the blaze.
A Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service received multiple calls to a fire at Wilmington, Devon.
“Fire control immediately mobilised two fire appliances from Honiton to attend this incident.
“On arrival the incident commander confirmed a small fire involving a bin store.
“Crews promptly got to work with one hose reel jet, one covering jet, two breathing apparatus and a thermal imaging camera to extinguish the fire.
“The bin store was eighty percent damaged by the fire.”
