Body is found in search for missing 28-year-old Exeter man, police confirm

Police have confirmed that a body has been found in the search for missing Exeter man Jay Haynes. 

Officers said that a body was located on Tuesday afternoon, February 9, and formal identification is yet to take place.

Mr Haynes was reported missing from the Exwick area of the city on Monday, February 8.

The family of Mr Haynes have been informed of the discovery.

A Devon and Cornwall Police spokesperson said: “Emergency services searching for a missing man in the Exeter area located a body earlier this afternoon.

“Formal identification is yet to take place and the family of Jay Haynes have been informed of this update.

“Officers would like to thank the public for their assistance.”
