Sidmouth has fulfilled its promise to ‘pull out all the stops’ with a ‘bigger and better’ display of Christmas lights decorating the town this festive season.
Professional photographer Simon Horn, who lives in the town, captured these illuminating images shortly after the lights were switched on.
The Christmas lights were quietly activated earlier this month, after the coronavirus pandemic robbed the town of its traditional switch-on celebrations.

Sidmouth Town Council said the Christmas lights display was ‘important’ in showing community spirit remained amid the pandemic and second lockdown.
Councillor Ian Barlow, council chairman, said: “This year, with so many challenges already during the year and a very different Christmas on the cards, it is so important to show that Sidmouth community spirit is alive and well.”
The council hoped people would enjoy the lights while out shopping or exercising in the town.

Shops have begun decorating their windows with festive displays.
