An East Devon business park is thought to be the first in the region to install ultra-fast 10gbps connectivity broadband.
Winslade Manor, in Clyst St Mary, set to open in early 2021, is gearing up to offer ultra-fast broadband to businesses moving in, and to future homeowners when the site is developed.
Site owner, Burrington Estates, says the speedy service will save business tenants money, improve efficiency, offer enhanced security, better customer support and remote connectivity.
Mark Edworthy, Burrington Estates spokesman, said: “Internet is the new oxygen. We are determined to provide the fastest internet speeds and resilience available anywhere in the region as well as coverage across the whole estate to encourage use of the grounds for outdoor meetings and personal working.
“The homes we build will also benefit from this amazing connectivity helping those who want to efficiently work from home.”
The estate has teamed up with broadband specialist Jurassic Fibre to provide the 10gbps connectivity at the business park.
The internet provider – set up to address the issue of the South West being overlooked in the supply of high-quality broadband – currently serves around 20,000 premises in East Devon.
