Budleigh Salterton High Street to be closed to traffic for fortnight while footpath is resurfaced

Budleigh Salterton High Street will be closed to traffic for up to a fortnight from Monday, November 9, while repairs are carried out to its footpath.

‘Essential’ resurfacing is needed to the town centre path – from its junction with Station Road to the junction with Chapel Street – to ‘maintain it in a safe condition’, says Devon County Council (DCC).

Access to shops and businesses will be maintained while the work is undertaken….

A spokesperson for the authority added: “High Street will be closed to traffic to enable the work to be carried out safely and to allow pedestrians to walk along the road in order to maintain a social distance while the footpath is closed.

“Access to shops and businesses will be maintained while the work is undertaken.”

During the closure, traffic will be diverted via Station Road, Upper Stoneborough Lane and Coastguard Road.
