Mass fight in Exeter sparks police appeal for witnesses and information

Police are appealing for information following reports of a large-scale brawl in Cowick Street, Exeter, on Friday October 23.

Officers received reports of a mass fight, involving around 15 people, near the Tesco Express store, between 9.30pm and 10.10pm.

Police said a 29-year-old man from Dawlish was arrested on suspicion of affray and taken into police custody then released under investigation pending further enquiries.

Devon and Cornwall Police are keen to hear from witnesses, or anyone with information relating to the incident outside the supermarket in Cowick Lane.

Officers said up to 15 people were involved in the mass brawl.

A Devon and Cornwall Police spokesperson said: “It was reported that an altercation had taken place involving ten to fifteen people near the Tesco store between 9.30pm and 10.10pm.”
