Volunteer town gardeners in Exmouth have thanked residents for donating funds in exchange for recycled plants.
The Exmouth in Bloom group gave away for free a haul of summer bedding plants that had been cleared from planters ready for the winter.
The volunteers said they were ‘pleased’ so many residents recycled the orange and magenta Pinto Geraniums and thanked the generosity of those who left donations in return for the free plants.
Marion Drew, Exmouth in Bloom vice-chairman, said: “Exmouth in Bloom are pleased that so many people arrived and went away very happy.
“Although these were free of charge many people popped donations in the bucket by way of a thank you, which was much appreciated.”
The public give-away was advertised through social media, offering blooms from the big wavy bed and the Spirit of the Exe boat, ahead of Exmouth in Bloom’s winter planting plan.
