Police appeal after motorcyclist is critically injured in crash at M5 junction in Exeter

Police are appealing for information after a motorcyclist was critically injured in a two-vehicle crash on the M5 in Exeter.

Emergency services including the air ambulance were called to the motorway’s Junction 30 southbound on-slip at Sandygate at around 4.10pm yesterday (Friday, September 25).

The collision involved a green Royal Enfield motorcycle and a blue VW Scirocco.

The road was closed for a number of hours whilst a forensic examination of the collision scene was conducted…

A Devon and Cornwall Police spokesperson said: “The male rider of the motorcycle was taken to Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital, with critical injures and his next-of-kin have been informed.

“The road was closed for a number of hours whilst a forensic examination of the collision scene was conducted.

“Officers from the Roads Policing Team attended the scene and are now appealing for witnesses who may have seen the collision, or either vehicle prior to it, particularly those who may have dash-camera footage, to contact police, quoting log number 554 of 25/09/20.”
