Suspicious activity and vans without number plates in Woodbury sparks police warning for vigilance

Police are warning Woodbury residents to be vigilant after a group of people were seen acting suspiciously in the village.

Officers said strangers who were spotted and challenged in the grounds of a home in Cottles Lane made off in a silver vehicle at around 8.30pm on Thursday, September 17.

Police said a further incident, believed to be connected, happened in the Woodbury area and involved two vans that were seen driving around without registration number plates.

Devon and Cornwall Police is keen for information about the vehicles, or to hear from witnesses.

A Devon and Cornwall Police spokesman said: “This was suspicious activity at a residential address in Woodbury where suspects were seen in the grounds of a residential address at around 8pm.

“They made off after being challenged.

“We received further reports of suspicious vans in the area.”
