Ottery firefighters tackle ‘accidental’ car blaze on A30 at Daisymount

Firefighters from Ottery St Mary tackled a blaze in the engine of a car on the A30 at Daisymount this morning (Sunday, September 20).

A crew from the town was called at around 11.50am.

They used a hose-reel jet and thermal imaging kit to extinguish the accidental fire.

The cause of the fire was accidental…

A Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “One fire appliance from Ottery St Mary attended a small fire in the engine of a vehicle.

“Crews extinguished the small fire using one hose-reel jet and a thermal imaging camera.

“The cause of the fire was accidental.”
