Gold badges and certificates of congratulations have been presented to two young readers who each finished 100 books at Budleigh Salterton Library.
Isobel Akers, aged eight, and six-year-old Henry Duriez were presented with their Book Track awards by Budleigh mayor, Councillor Mike Hilliar.
The St Peter’s Primary School pupils each read and discussed 100 books to achieve the Devon Library reading scheme award.
Jane Cordy, Budleigh library supervisor, said: “Congratulations to Isobel and Henry, who have both completed Book Track recently, which means they have read, and talked about, one hundred books – either in person or by email.
“They were both presented with their gold badges and certificates and Mike Hilliar, the mayor of Budleigh Salterton, gave them both an extra gift of a £30 book token each to celebrate their reading prowess.”
She added: “Book Track is a Devon Library reading scheme which awards children for reading and discussing up to one hundred books.”
