Two weeks of resurfacing and overnight road closures planned for Clyst St Mary main route roundabout to Exmouth and Sidmouth

A fortnight of overnight road closures of a main route roundabout at Clyst St Mary begins next week (Monday, September 21).

The county council has announced the resurfacing of the A376 Clyst St Mary roundabout and its approach roads – A376 Sidmouth Road, A376 Exmouth Road, A3052 Honiton Road – from Monday, September 21 until Friday, October 2.

Devon County Council said diversions will be in place while the roundabout and the approach roads are closed each evening from 7pm through to 7am the next day.

The road will be fully open during the daytime and at weekends, the council said.

During the weekday resurfacing work, a signed diversion will be in place via the A3052, A375, A30 and vice versa and for Exmouth via A376, B3179, B3180, A3052.

The council said motorists may find alternative routes.

A Devon County Council spokesman said: “A major roundabout on the outskirts of Exeter will undergo two weeks of overnight closures while resurfacing work is carried out from next week.

“Overnight resurfacing work will be undertaken on the A376 Clyst St Mary roundabout and its approach roads.

“Both the roundabout and the approach roads will be closed each evening from 7pm through to 7am the next day.

“The road will be fully open during the daytime and at weekends.

“A signed diversion will be in place, although local motorists may find alternative routes.”
