Police are investigating the death of a male after a body was found on Exmouth beach on Saturday morning (August 22).
Officers were called to the beach at around 6.20am after a body was found near Orcombe Point.
The emergency services declared the male dead at the scene.
Police said formal identification is yet to take place.
Devon and Cornwall Police said the death is being investigated and enquiries are continuing.
A Devon and Cornwall Police spokesman said: “Police were called at around 6.20am on Saturday 22 August with reports that a body had been found on the beach near Orcombe Point in Exmouth.
“Emergency services attended the scene and, sadly, a male was declared deceased.
“Formal identification is yet to take place.
“The circumstances of the death are still being investigated and enquiries are ongoing.”
