A pie factory in Ottery St Mary has struck gold after celebrating 2020 Taste of the West success five times over.
Chunk of Devon, with its headquarters in Finnimore Trading Estate, Ottery, has scooped gold for each of its five entries in the 2020 awards ceremony to celebrate the region’s best food and drink producers.
Gold awards were presented for the vegan spicy Jack pie and the steak, stilton and mushroom pie.
The ultimate steak pie, the squealer pork pie and the vegan chunki roast veg pasty also each won gold awards.
Owners Simon and Suzi Bryon-Edmond, and the 40-strong team, said they were ‘totally delighted’ by the awards.
Suzi Bryon-Edmond, at Chunk of Devon, said: “Following a pretty tough few months this is a real boost for everyone.
“The team have put in a huge effort. We’re very proud of them all and are lucky to have such a dedicated team.”
The latest accolades bring the pie factory’s award tally to more than 180, and includes winning the 2019 crown for the best steak pasty at the 2019 British Pie Awards.
